None of our members are compensated monetarily. The valuable time, talent, monetary donations, and work of all the members of the organization XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza are voluntarily contributed.
Our members are very passionate about helping improve the life of the many families affected by Xeroderma Pigmentosum.

President, Founder, and Agent
Fatima is a survivor of this severe and complex rare genetic disease. All of the pain, sorrow, and suffering caused by Xeroderma Pigmentosum could not stop Fatima from fulfilling her dream of creating this non-profit charitable organization: XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza. Providing resources to meet the needs of people from many cultures, especially Latin American families, brings great joy and satisfaction to Fatima.
Kirssy joined XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza in 2011. Kirssy received a degree in Political Science and Public Policy from The City College of New York (CUNY). She has worked in various organized movements seeking relief for undocumented immigrants. Kirssy is also a Board Member of the Bronx Community College Foundation. She is very interested in influencing the lives of underrepresented and marginalized communities. Kirssy’s passion and unconditional support are very valuable to XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza.
Jean joined XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza in 2010. She earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education and has spent most of her career with students with disabilities. She taught at the famed League School for Seriously Disturbed Children in NYC. She taught at the Warrendale Youth Development Center, Allegheny County, PA, a part of the juvenile justice system. She taught autistic teens in the Fairfax Public Schools in Fairfax, VA. Wood started a non-profit bakery, employing 24 adults with severe mental and physical disabilities. Due to Wood’s extensive experience, dedication, and love for children with special needs, the organization XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza has a valuable ally in Jean.
Michele joined XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza in 2015. She earned a degree at Johnson and Wales College of Providence, RI. Married, and a happy mother of four, Michele has been serving the Lord since 1983. Her strong faith fuels her commitment to helping individuals and families in need. She has experience in non-profit administration, retail merchandising, banquet management, and healthcare. Due to Michele’s experience in Non-Profit Administration and her dedication to helping others, she is a great support to the XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza.
Analeh joined XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza in 2013. She serves as a Public Affairs Specialist for the Connecticut Light & Power Company (CL&P) and Yankee Gas (YG), providing families with an array of community services and educational presentations. El Show de Analeh, a dream production turned into a reality, continues to entertain and inform the Latino community with innovative topics. Analeh presently serves as a volunteer in a variety of non-profit organizations in Greater Hartford. She currently is also a board member for the Artist Collective, Broad Park Development Corp., Conference of Churches, First Night Hartford, Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce, and the Hartford Public Library. With her power of assembly and her successful show, Analeh Alfaro is a great support for the XP Grupo Luz de Esperanza.
